Licensee:

  • hard red winter wheat
  • early maturing, apically awnletted, semidwarf wheat with light red glumes
  • tested in all wheat-growing areas of Texas but has shown exceptional performance particularly in the warmer and more humid areas such as South Texas, the Blacklands, and the Rolling Plains
  •  excellent grain yield potential, good resistance to foliar diseases, particularly leaf rust (caused by Puccinia tri-ticina Eriks.) and stripe rust (caused by P. striiformis West-end.)
  • acceptable end-use quality
  • awnletted or apically awnletted wheat is preferred by cattle grazing on wheat pasture after the spikes have emerged from the boot
